2026 Season Details
The Lady Longhorns Softball teams will once again offer 5 levels this season: 9U, 11U, and 13U REC softball, as well as 12U & 14U Competitive teams (tryouts completed in August). If your daughter is interested in continuing her development with softball, please click the link below to read more about the Lady Longhorns, and what the upcoming season entails — special events will occur during the season, with softball-specific pitching & hitting clinics, an event at a local high school softball game, and "Longhorns Night." Details for each level:
9U "Coach Pitch"
Full practice & game schedule, with games played around NKY and practices occurring in Villa Hills. Rules will follow NKYA league rules, including "coach pitch" policy. Most games will be played on Saturday's, at either Richardson Road Park (Independence) or Villa Hills. Game schedule will be from late April through June 30th. Practices will occur during weeknights (Coach's decision on time & day) in Villa Hills at either Franzen Park or Villa Madonna. "Special events" will also occur during the season, with softball-specific pitching & hitting clinics, an event at a local high school softball game, and "Longhorns Night."
11U "Modified Kid Pitch"
Full practice & game schedule, with games played around NKY and practices occurring in Villa Hills. Rules will follow NKYA league rules, including "Modified Kid pitch" policy, with players starting as a pitcher and coaches coming into finish an at-bat if needed. Most games will be played on Saturday's, at either Richardson Road Park (Independence) or Villa Hills. Game schedule will be from late April through June 30th. Practices will occur during weeknights (Coach's decision on time & day) in Villa Hills at either Franzen Park or Villa Madonna. "Special events" will also occur during the season, with softball-specific pitching & hitting clinics, an event at a local high school softball game, and "Longhorns Night."
13U

"Queen of the Diamonds" 10U Softball Tournament at Franzen
Register your 10U softball team today for the inaugural "Queen of the Diamonds" Mother's Day Classic!
On Saturday, May 11th the Villa Hills Lady Longhorns will be hosting the “Queen of the Diamonds” Mother’s Day Classic to be played at Franzen Fields in Villa Hills. Moms are busy, and they deserve a day off from the field on Mother’s Day Weekend. With Moms in mind, we will be hosting a 1-day 10U tournament for local teams to play some softball while also giving all the Mom a break from softball on Mother’s Day the next day.
The Mother’s Day Classic will be a 3-game guarantee (with a max of 4 games), with 2 Pool Play games followed by a single-elimination bracket split into Gold & Silver based on seeding from pool play games.
This tournament is targeted to Rec+ teams looking for good, even competition.
