B.Y.O.B. THIS YEAR
Once again, we're having a "Skills Competition" on Field #1 for our 11U - 14U Baseball & Softball teams, followed by a "Coaches vs. Coaches Softball Game" at 8 pm. This was a huge success last year, with fans & kids alike enjoying watching their coaches show their own skills vs. trying to develop the skills of their players. ALL COACHES ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE in the "Coaches vs. Coaches" game, so please plan accordingly & bring your equipment needed to play!
The Franzen Fields concession stand will be open, selling drinks for kids (water & Gatorade) & adults (Cold Beer & Seltzers). Because the Civic Club & Franzen are so generous in allowing the Longhorns the use of fields, restrooms, and concessions, we ask that you PLEASE show your support by buying drinks from the concession stand and support the Franzen crew that is there for all of our games throughout the season.
Parking will be a little crazy.
Even with our expansion project, parking is still limited with as many families as we expect, so if you are able to, please carpool, walk, or get dropped off at Franzen. We will continue to do our best to help families with handicapped and accessibility needs, and please park appropriately to leave as much room for others as possible.
NEW THIS YEAR: B.Y.O.B.
The concession stand will NOT have alcohol this year. This year, while the city finalizes a liquor license update, you are allowed to bring your own adult drinks/coolers. We ask that you continue to support the VHCC concession stand at Franzen for kids drinks, who do so much for all of us throughout the year, and as always, please be responsible.
We hope to see you all at the fields on Friday evening, even if you're not playing a game. It is a fun experience — one that epitomizes how lucky we all are to have the tremendous support of a local, thriving baseball and softball program like the Longhorns!
